I didn't know there were ...Wonderful pictures. I didn't know there were such "modern" buildings and their Russian influence. I have two friends that were in Cuba when the revolution started. They barely made it off the island on one of the last planes and actually ran through war zones to get to the airport. I also had a friend, who has now passed. She and her husband were chemists and fled the island with only the jewelry they had accumulated over the years. They were quite wealthy prior to the revolution. They still had family in Cuba and she would tell me how difficult it was under Castro for her family to even get food.
