The wackiest year was probably the papier mache one when I was a fly and my sister a frog.Kristin Lhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05955546754675680404noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16634800.post-13233506132277377822011-11-01T20:50:30.633-07:002011-11-01T20:50:30.633-07:00Yeah, WHAT was I? I got to be the Dutch girl one year, and Raggedy Ann and a black cat... Mom made wonderful costumes! You are absolutely right about the costumes being the best part. And getting to wander through the neighborhood (with a lot of friends) AFTER DARK. Reeeeally neato.
[Oh, and let's just say that the kid in the picture was just some strange passerby. I can't imagine putting up with that stinky rubber mask for even a minute to be a ???? pig? wolf? troll?]Becknoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16634800.post-58215921787533746522011-11-01T11:07:24.451-07:002011-11-01T11:07:24.451-07:00I remember my first Halloween "costume"....I remember my first Halloween "costume"..it was the cow mask with a flower on the head, plastic that was a hand me down from one of my dad's younger sisters. And then of course in Jr High it was as a hippie, we were all hippies, with "bead" necklaces made out of dried Great Northern beans. Our neighborhood was very fun and no matter how prepared we thought we were we were always scared when Mr. Collard would jump out from some secluded corner and scare us all.

We had about 30 trick or treaters this year, probably because of the nearness of houses in the subdivision. There were many times when we lived in Spokane and California that we had fewer than 10 and often none.

The kids love being in costumes and I love seeing them.Carlahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00140738523399836125noreply@blogger.com
