I would think that should work, too. http://1stopretroshop.com/item-pages/round-bottom-solid-copper-bowl.htm Don't know what ever happened to that bowl but I have a round crocheted table cloth that would be great for this project ... no layering required. :D Your lamp shade came out very nicely.Pathttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12283575512727062312noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16634800.post-23810375293347433482015-09-18T03:20:09.267-07:002015-09-18T03:20:09.267-07:00So interesting. Thanks for the heads up that the stiffener doesn't work for gluing the pieces together.
Do you think you might need some sort of fire protection solution on the inside if you get a bigger bulb?
Sandy in the UKSandyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04978514536651961190noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16634800.post-56025505415099249112015-09-16T01:54:46.418-07:002015-09-16T01:54:46.418-07:00I've quite fancied doing this before too and b...I've quite fancied doing this before too and been scared off by the thought that it must be harder than it looks, so thanks for the tips, I'll keep an eye out for a suitable mold and maybe give it a go.Wonky Patchworkhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13877163026017340681noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16634800.post-84163064989577905882015-09-15T21:13:46.886-07:002015-09-15T21:13:46.886-07:00Perseverance furthers! And I think, if I remember when I watched craft shows every afternoon (where did they go?) they did it in layers letting the first layer dry and then adding a second layer. then cutting away the ball.

I remember the drying taking at least a few days. I have (had) bottles of all that stuff and finally threw them all away. I have declared to anyone listening I don't do crafts. I remember struggling with the string-stiffener-balloon Easter eggs as a kid so kind of wondered if the lampshades were harder than they looked!

Yours turned out great though, and thanks for all the tips you figured out- now maybe I'll try it!

Also, I meant to comment some last week, but I really enjoyed your retrospective/re-running of old blogposts for your anniversary.
