Following the creek

Awhile back we discovered that if one follows the little creek that runs through our property down along our road it continues into the subdivision a few blocks away and there is a paved trail that follows it along. Driving through the subdivision you would never know the trail or creek was there. It winds through an area at the backs of houses, through a small hidden park, past tennis courts and flows, unseen, through culverts under the streets. In some places it widens into marshy ponds. You walk along high fences marking backyards at one side of the trail and wooded wildlife habitat on the other side. Lots to see along the way, especially on a nice sunny day like today.

  1. Mark the location of those blackberries in your memory. they will be a nice treat to pick later.

I think I will plant some blackberries along the wet area of my yard.

  2. I just love it when there is a bit of interesting nature and adventure nestled in among the subdivisions. We have no such thing here. Sigh.

  3. hehe...I was so expecting to see the word "tire" as I scrolled down the page.

As for "Sleepy Jeanie" as I have always 'heard' it, now I have it stuck in my head too.

  4. Loved your crazy hearts!! What a great idea. :) I really like the idea of Valentines instead of Christmas cards too. Happy (almost) spring!

  5. That first pic on your blog is amazing!! Lots of inspiration for a landscape or abstract person there!!

The others are very good too, but the first one, keeps drawing me back to it.

  6. Once someone starts dumping, others follow this example. That's why I sometimes remove things in order not to attract brothers and sisters, though it is not my fault. (I don't have the means to remove a tyre.)
In Estonia they have built up a Google Earth special map where anyone can notify dump deposits in the landscape, and there is a clearing team who follow the map and pick up the stuff!

Enjoyed the little nature walk. Think I may take a break and take my own.

    Thanks, Connie
