Today I am the featured artist on the Dinner at Eight web site. They are featuring the artists whose work was selected for "The Space Between" exhibit. I am happy to be among those artists! The interview is here.
This is my finished piece, called "Between Mother and Child." It really was excruciating to make! I learned a lot and know things I would do differently, but I am very gratified that it was accepted for the show.
Oh, I LOVE this. I have a photo I took 10 years ago of this fabulous Delft tile in an old tuberculosis hospital on Staten Island, of a nurse holding a baby, with a little boy holding her skirts. I have sketched it out, one day I will get the nerve to actually turn it into a mother and child quilt!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful quilt. How nice to be a featured artist and interviewed. Congratulations!!!
ReplyDeleteAs long as we keep learning, I think we're doing OK!
ReplyDeleteYou're people renditions are always terrific, but I was stopped cold on your sky. Um..yeah!!!! I need more practice seeing things like you do, pulling apart the colors and layers.
This is absolutely wonderful!
