How cool was Aretha?!

I am still basking in the glow of yesterday's inauguration ceremonies and the wonderful celebration concert at the Lincoln Memorial the day before and realizing how important music is to my mood and attitude about things. I told Ray this morning that one of the things I have really enjoyed about the festivities was "more Stevie Wonder in my life than I've had for awhile." A little bit of a joke, but I woke up this morning humming "Overjoyed". Must mean something.

  1. I happen to think that every day is brightened by a little Stevie Wonder. I can't help but sing along with Higher Ground whenever i hear it. Yesterday gave me a good fix. Loved the Queen's hat too!

  7. Well, I just watched your Youtube of Aretha, and I cried all over again. Just watching the peoples' faces as the camera panned the crowds, and reflecting upon what they must have been thinking as they listened to her belt out "let freedom ring'. This is surely a miraculous time in the life of our country!!!

Thanks for letting me relive a little of last Tuesday's glory!

Like Judy, I saw this on Tuesday, of course, but just clicked again this evening -- and again, tears all over again. I'm also doing Etta James on Pandora, along with Aretha, who shows up there too.

Music is just about all that makes me think that there might be a heaven, after all.
