This is my new Twelve by Twelve piece, using the colors of blue, brown and sage. It was great fun to make, since it is a remake of an earlier quilt in a newer style and whole new color scheme. Go to the
Twelve by Twelve blog for the whole story and to see what everyone else came up with .
The bird is my favorite part of the whole thing.
I love how it turned out...it is amazing how just a tweak her or there can make a difference.
ReplyDeleteResisting the gratuitous Portlandia reference. Lovely piece. If I remember the earlier one correctly, it had a much darker and more "controlled" feeling.
ReplyDeleteLovely bird. Lovely quilt. The spray of outline leaves pulls it all together - clever.
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteCheeky little bird.
ReplyDeleteI see your new direction in the little bird.
ReplyDeleteI love this. It's so much fun to see the pieces, then see the whole thing. Great job!
ReplyDeleteGlad to see you "put a bird on it"!
ReplyDeleteYou did a very nice job of "ruffling his feathers"! Thank you for sharing your thought process, where we all win. I want to think like an artist.
ReplyDeleteNicely done Terry. This bird is so sweet. You may remember how much I love the original. It's nice to see another version in softer colors although I still adore the original.
ReplyDeleteI really like your work. Lovely.
ReplyDeleteThe binding looks so smooth and crisp. How did you do that?
I really like looking at it, beautiful
