For its statement I wrote a haiku:
The moon is a mirrorIt is comprised almost entirely of triangles cut from my overdyed shirting fabrics. My quilt is one of 33 chosen for this exhibit and the list of artists is pretty great! I am so pleased to have my work included. The exhibit will debut at the International Quilt Festival in Houston in October. This is my fourth quilt that has been in one of the Dinner at Eight exhibits and they just keep getting better and better. Many thanks to Jamie Fingal and Leslie Jenison for curating these exhibits.
Without its own light,
It reflects the sun's face.
Congratulations Terry! ... and tonight's moon looks just like it :)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! I find the long narrow size makes an interesting exhibit when everything is the same size, but it can be a challenge to work within tight criteria. You have managed to capture a real glow in the background of your quilt despite working with the night. Very compelling!
ReplyDeleteIt's lovely!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely fabulous, a winner in all regard. It was worth the wait!

ReplyDeleteWhen I saw the teaser photo on FB I knew something special was coming. Indeed. I really like the way the color cousins work together to make texture..and outlining with the light of the moon, brilliant.
ReplyDeleteWow. I could study this one for hours. May I have your permission to pin it to my Pinterest board?

Just gorgeous Terry...I need to blog about and share mine!
ReplyDeleteOh yea. I like this one, and I respect the time you put in to get all of the dimension.
ReplyDeleteWow! I love it!
ReplyDeleteVery nice - and the triangles make a fairly common image unusual. The long narrow format really suits this design.
ReplyDeleteI especially like that lovely, glowing moon set in the night sky. It's easy to understand how working with all the cheerful colors could be a happy experience, especially during winter time. Congratulations, Marken
ReplyDeleteOh! For the life of me, I cannot figure out how you put together all those triangles so that they look perfectly pieced, yet concurrently free-form. It's wonderful! Congratulations on being chosen for the exhibit. I hope to see it in person one day.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful piece. Congratulations for getting juried in
