It is Twelve x Twelve day

Rust and Patina were the theme for this challenge. My inspiration was a beautiful leaf that I picked up a year ago and pressed in a book. Making the leaf viable and figuring out how to create the fabrics I needed were my challenge. Head on over to the Twelve by Twelve Blog and read the rest of the story, as well as seeing what everyone else did with the challenge.

  3. I love this piece. Could you explain more about how you pieced the odd shaped pieces together and the edging on those? Did you put a coat of anything on top of the leaf?

I'm enjoying looking at this piece. That lovely drift of hand stitches certainly suggests floating on a breeze.
