Orange door

Red and orange paint is made from very transparent pigment. It takes a lot of coats to cover a white primed wood door. I know this, but I forget. It took three days and five coats of paint, but my door is finally a nice smooth, even color. It's funny how sometimes things you think will be simple are not and vice versa.

Multi-purpose bathroom. That's a little hot water heater under the sink. It works great.

I remembered I had this stained glass dragonfly packed away. There was no place to hang it when we moved. I think it is just right for a round window.

It's coming together slowly.

  5. Looks great. But I wouldn't say "slowly." Just wait a second and you'll be worrying about where to put one more piece of fabric -- it will be filled to the brim.

It really is beautiful -- what a fine job! Congrats, Terry. You've waited a long time for this.

  6. I can't decide which of these crowning touches I like best - the dragonfly, the little front porch or a utility sink in the bathroom! I am so jealous I have been looking at fallow spot in the back yard with a keen eye.

This brings back my own excitement when my studio was built. It's been 7 years and now it's time to re-do. You have such a creative space and I know you will make amazing art there. Enjoy!

You have just changed my life! My studio doesn't have hot water which stops me from doing much of anything, even proper clean-up. This will fix everything! And oh yes, how I love the red/orange door- my fav color!

  15. I, too, was surprised at how many coats of red paint it took to cover my stained wood front door. I still feel like I can sorta see the dark wood underneath all those layers.

  17. I hope you'll post photo's after you move in - we can all learn from how we each resolve the use of studio space. I think I better clean up my studio and post on my blog - maybe a few suggestions will help!
