We got the call in the middle of the night and went to the hospital. They kept Emily all night as contractions continued. But she isn't dilating much yet. Sent her home about noon today. She and Cayo are here at our house and we are all trying to get a little rest before baby decides she is ready to come out and meet us. All is well—just progressing at a leisurely pace.
Those babies sure do like to take their own time -- but the reward when they get here! Hope everything goes well, and the wait is almost over!
ReplyDeleteYou have my sympathy - and company! We have been waiting for my best friend, Robyns baby for two weeks now. Today is the day! Elective C section - he is over 41 weeks and no longer engaged. In fact he's probably breech or transverse. Little rotter!!
ReplyDeleteWhat in the ______ is leisurely pace?
ReplyDeleteI remember when my sister had her first baby, she started contractions and went to the hospital as we had all gathered to have a baby shower for her that evening. They sent her home and she came to the shower. Robin was born the next day. I hope your baby comes soon. The waiting gets old! Missed you today. It was a fabulous talk and slide show.
ReplyDeleteHow good that Emily has her mother's care while she waits. You'll be able to tell your granddaughter all about "the day(s) you were born." I've been thinking about you today and will continue sending good thoughts.
ReplyDeleteI dreamed of Emily all night last night. She was going on a trip to Ecuador but she wanted me to safeguard her CD about Cotopaxi. I kept telling her I didn't think she should go...
ReplyDeleteI was sure I'd hear about "our" baby being born when I woke up this morning.
Maybe I have to dream about Cotopaxi blowing its lid?
I haven't been this breathless since December 1964, when going to a bar with my parents and husband brought about the desired result.
ReplyDeleteWell, it was almost New Year's Eve and I didn't drink!
My sister just had one of those "leisurely" babies. She came out fine in the end, but boy was my sister exhausted! Best wishes to Emily and Cayo.
ReplyDeleteI'm keeping Priscilla updated. It's wonderful that you can keep a close eye on Emily. I'm sure she appreciates you!
ReplyDeleteTerry, Hope all goes well with the baby. I've also enjoyed reading your blog about your Mexico adventures. Best wishes!
