Right on the heels of my first Illustration Friday entry, here is my second. This week's subject is "insect". I have had the thought of a beetle in my mind for awhile, so this was the impetus. The beetle is based on a photo of the real thing to get the anatomy right, but the colors are pure fantasy. I have always loved those
Egyptian scarabs—beetles made from gold and precious stones.
Terry,
ReplyDeleteThis is just wonderful. The colors, the patterns, everything works so well together. Very nicely done.
Nicely done!
ReplyDeleteTerry,
ReplyDeleteI see by your entries that you are still a world class night owl.
Carla
Very nice, Terry. How large is this?
ReplyDeleteI'll answer Gerrie here. The piece is approximately 8 x 14 (inches). I say "approximately" because I trimmed the image in Photoshop and added the black border. In real life it hasn't yet been trimmed and finished.
ReplyDeleteGreat illo. Nice work.
